| Abstract: | Hlavním cílem předkládané práce je popsat Historii židovské komunity v Egyptě od 2.poloviny 2. století do současnosti. Práce se zkoumá, do jaké míry ovlivnil vznik státu Izrael a následné izraelsko-arabské konflikty směřování a roli egyptské židovské komunity. Prostor je rovněž věnován otázce budoucího vývoje židovské komunity v Egyptě. |
| Abstract in different language: | The aim of this thesis is to characterise the Jewish society in Egypt, mainly in the second half of the 20th century. The text is divided into three main chapters. The first one represents an introduction to the topic: it deals with the basic facts from the history of Jews in the Middle East until the half of the 20th century, focusing mainly on the situation in Egypt. The second chapter covers the second half of the 20th century and it describes the modern Arab-Israeli wars and their influence on Egyptian Jews. The third chapter gives a brief outline of the main Jewish communities in Egypt throughout history. Finally, the last chapter summarises the situation of the Egyptian-Jewish community today. |
