| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce se věnuje studiu mediálního obrazu Libye za vlády Muammara Kaddáfího. Práce se soustřeďuje na frekvenci vydávání novinových článků v amerických médiích a roli faktorů negativity a návaznosti na elitní národy při zveřejnění článků Práce se opírá o teorii zpravodajských hodnot Johana Galtunga a Mari Holmboe Ruge a pozorování soustředí na dva celostátně prodávané deníky The New York Times a The Wall Street Journal. Bylo zjištěno, že referování sledovanými médii bylo celistvé a největší počet článků byl zaznamenán v roce 2011. Převažovaly především zprávy o negativních událostech a zprávy referující o událostech, které měly návaznost na elitní národy. |
| Abstract in different language: | The focus of this bachelor thesis is to study the media image of Libya under the leadership of Muammar Gaddafi. The goal of this study is to find out how often Libya was referred to in the American media. Simultaneously, it tries to reveal the influence of factors of the negativity and the reference to elite nations on the release of studied articles. The thesis uses the theory of news values of Johan Galtung and Mari Holmboe Ruge and focuses its analysis on two nationwide daily newspapers, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. The thesis found out that the coverage of the Libyan topic was compact and the biggest amount of articles was registered in 2011. Articles about negative events and articles about events with reference to elite nations prevailed. |
