Abstract in different language: | This paper is dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) which nowadays gains in importance and represents an increasing potential not only in the business environment. In the context of CSR, the competitiveness and performance of companies were defined. At the same time, the actual state of knowledge in the area of influence of CSR on companies’ performance was analyzed. In the final part of the paper, the situation of CSR of the companies that are on the list of TOP 100 most significant corporate income tax payers was analyzed and examined. Based on the results of the empirical research, the paper specified the mutual relationship between the companies’ Corporate Social Responsibility and their performance. It was proven that the principle of social responsibility can be regarded as a necessary presumption of the economic success of a company. A well performed CSR being an important part of company’s strategy can bring a competitive advantage in a long run, and thus increase the company’s value for share holders. |
