Abstract in different language: Pottery stilts or shelves belong to an overlooked and little-known artifact associated with the production of Early Modern glazed pottery. In pottery terminology, these terms represent a group of objects that encompasses a fairly wide group of artifacts. A batch of pottery vessels with a glaze is carried out in the shelving system, wherein each joint of kiln spacers are formed by posts, which carry the kiln plates or plateau. The vessels are layed on different types of pottery stillts to prevent them from sticking together during the firing process. In 2013, during the rescue archaeological excavation in the construction of an underground parking garage in front of hotel Bohemia in the southwestern corner of the Masaryk Square in Chrudim a fairly representative collection of pottery stilts from the period of 16th–17th century was collected. This paper summarizes the current knowledge about pottery stilts from Chrudim and other sites in a broader context.
