| Abstract: | Diplomová práce se zabývá Britským Somálskem v období přelomu devatenáctého a dvacátého století. Prostřednictvím historie popisuje jeho strategický a hospodářský význam a to především ve spojení s utvářením britského protektorátu a dlouholetým povstáním Sayyida Hassana. Právě v průběhu tohoto konfliktu se rozhodovalo o budoucnosti Britského Somálska. |
| Abstract in different language: | The focus of the Master's thesis is the British Somaliland at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth century. The thesis describes its strategic and economic relevance via history especially in the connection with the formation of British protectorate and a longtime uprising of Sayyid Hassan. The future of British Somaliland was being decided precisely during this conflict. |
