| Abstract: | Cílem bakalářské práce je studovat a popsat působení W.E.B. Du Boise na Atlantské univerzitě mezi lety 1898 až 1910. Primárně se opírá o studium sborníku výzkumu afroamerických komunit v USA, které v tomto období na Atlantské univerzitě vycházely. Práce se zaměří na tři aspekty výzkumů: náboženství, sociální strukturu a rasu. Dalším cílem je diskutovat, zdali Du Boisův výzkum na Atlantské univerzitě může být považován za první sociologickou školu v USA. |
| Abstract in different language: | The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to study and describe W.E.B. Du Bois' work at Atlanta University in period between 1898 and 1910. Work is based on study of reports of social surveys on african american communities in the USA published by Atlanta University in this period. Work aims on three specific fields: religion, social structure and race. Additional aim is to discuss, wether Du Bois' survey on Atlanta University can be considered the first sociological school in the USA. |
