Abstract in different language:	Im vorliegenden Beitrag werden Grundtendenzen der Entwicklung an der tschechisch – bayrischen Grenze in Jahren 1948 – 1989 beschrieben. Diese Grenze gehörte zu den am strengsten überwachten Grenzabschnitten Europas. Aufgrund historischer Archivquellen und Fachliteratur beschreibt der Autor das Leben hinter dem Eisernen Vorhang im westböhmischen Grenzland. The study presents the picture of the most closely watched Czech-Bavarian border in the years 1948-1989. Based on historical sources and literature, it explores the atmosphere of the Iron Curtain in the West Bohemian frontier.
