| Abstract in different language: | The article deals with Ignaz Peter Krahl (1828–1886), a Cistercian monk, who taught at the elite grammar school in the city of Chomutov and who was eventually elected the abbot in the Osek monastery. Krahl was a personality of great importance in the region of north‑western Bohemia in the second half of the 19th century since he was both a capable manager, teacher, as well as prelate and a regional historian. |
