| Abstract: | Studie se zaměřuje na postavu významného středoevropského intelektuála Johanna Sambuca v kontextu vídeňského irénismu. Primárně se soustředí na jeho vztah k Sidneyovým, který ovšem vyrůstá z jejich pozice v středoevropském intelektuálním dění. |
| Abstract in different language: | Intellectual and literary circles, communities, and networks were a significant feature of Renaissance and early modern literary culture, playing a crucial part in nurturing intellectual communication and the circulation of knowledge. Moreover, the literary culture and intellectual circles of the age were pivotal in fashioning national identities both socially and politically and, as such, tied in closely with the patronage system. This essay focuses on a key representative of the Hungarian/Slovak intellectual tradition and the Viennese court, scholar Johannes Sambucus. Taking his involvement with the Sidneys as an essential framework for my analysis, this essay sheds new light on the hugely influential role he played in their European intellectual circle. |
