Abstract: HIV/AIDS pandemic has been a world phenomenon for last couple of years, but it is not a domain of only medical science anymore. The geographical aspects of pandemia HIV/AIDS have been researched since 1990s in the western Europe or USA. This paper discusses, whether geography in the Czech Republic should study the pandemia too, not only because Eastern Europe is the second most afflicted region and the society has stopped to be alert, but just because geography has specific methodology, wich can be used to spatially explore and thus fight AIDS. Another reason is, that 30 years ago the medical geography and the geography of health rooted in former Czechoslovakia, but there have not been any followers since that time.
