| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce se zabývá Runcimanovou misí a jejími dopady na mezinárodní politiku Velké Británie a Československa. Mapuje jednotlivá jednání mezi Sudetoněmeckou stranou a československou vládou, při nichž byli zástupci britské mise přítomni. Cílem práce je odpovědět na otázku, jestli byl Runciman proněmecky naladěn a jaké měly jeho závěry dopad na následná jednání mezi britským premiérem Nevillem Chamberlainem a německým kancléřem Adolfem Hitlerem. První kapitola se zabývá vztahem československého státu k sudetským Němcům. Druhá kapitola se věnuje působení britského ministerského předsedy, jeho názorům a politice se zaměřením na oblast střední Evropy od května roku 1937 do anšlusu Rakouska. Třetí část se věnuje okolnostem vyslání britského emisara do Československa, zabývá se jeho názory, dále tomu, jak chtěl celou krizi vyřešit a přivést k vyjednávacímu stolu obě strany. Následně se v kapitole pojednává o Runcimanově příjezdu do Londýna, o jeho závěrečné zprávě z 21. září 1938 a jednáním mezi britskými, německými a francouzskými zástupci. |
| Abstract in different language: | The bachelor thesis deals with the Runciman Mission and its impact on the international politics of Great Britain and Czechoslovakia. It charts the individual negotiations between the Sudeten German Party and the Czechoslovak government during which representatives of the British mission were present. The thesis aims to answer whether Runciman was pro-German and what impact his conclusions had on subsequent negotiations between British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain and German Chancellor Adolf Hitler. The first chapter deals with the relationship of the Czechoslovak state to the Sudeten Germans. The second chapter focuses on the British Prime Minister's tenure, views and policies, focusing on Central Europe from May 1937 until the Anschluss of Austria. The third part deals with the circumstances of the British emissary's dispatch to Czechoslovakia, dealing with his views and how he wanted to resolve the crisis and bring both sides to the negotiating table. The chapter then discusses Runciman's arrival in London, his final report of 21 September 1938, and the negotiations between the British German and French representatives. |
