Abstract: Boolean operations are complex, so it is difficult to perform them in real time. Sometimes, the goal is only to reconstruct the model. In that case, accuracy is not too important and other approaches can be performed. However, the reconstruction of the model must satisfy some requirements like smoothness or velocity. In this paper, a method to reconstruct a model after a cut is presented. This method can be applied to simulate medical procedures, such as the rejection of damaged tissues, or applied to virtual sculpting. A haptic device has been used to test the effectiveness of the method. Tests have shown that the elimination and the reconstruction are performed in real time.
