Abstract in different language: In 2013, archaeological excavations were carried out in the town of Beroun (Central Bohemia) on the site of an abandoned pottery works in a suburb north of the town’s center. Excavation uncovered evidence of pottery workshops from the 14th to the first third of the 17th century including a pair of horizontal one-chamber pottery kilns from the second half of 15th century with production debris. The pottery kilns from this so- -called “Potters’ Town” area of Beroun are a contribution to the relatively small collection of published findings of kilns from this period. The pottery findings from the backfill of kilns illustrate the form of pottery wares produced in Beroun during the second half of 15th century, roughly one hundred years before the onset of the richly decorated “Beroun wares”.
