| Abstract: | Předmětem práce je reflektovat komunikační problémy, které doprovázely setkání evropské civilizace s nově objevenými americkými územími. Analyzovány byly texty zaměřené na cesty Kryštofa Kolumba a Hernána Cortése. Jednotlivé komunikační problémy byly zhodnoceny prizmatem koncepcí Stephana Greeblatta, Tzvetana Todorova nebo filosofickými teoriemi (například Austinova teorie řečových aktů, Quinova teze o neurčitosti překladu). Diplomová práce je rozdělena do tří hlavních kapitol: metodologické části, druhá kapitola zachycuje první komunikační problémy, které vznikaly při výpravách Kryštofa Kolumba, třetí kapitola zachycuje problémy a strategie komunikace Hernána Cortése. Cílem práce je předložit konkrétní komunikační nezdary a strategie a zhodnotit je z hlediska teoretických koncepcí. Práce je kompilací a komparací primárních historických děl a sekundární literatury. |
| Abstract in different language: | The main topic of this Diploma thesis is to reflect communication problems related to the encounter of European civilization and freshly discovered American territories. The Thesis analyzes texts focused on Christopher Columbus and Hernán Cortés voyages. Each problem was examined through theoretical conceptions of Stephen Greenblatt, Tzvetan Todorov or through philosophical theories (Austins theory of speech acts, Quines thesis about the indeterminacy of translation for example). The Diploma Thesis is divided into three chapters: first methodologic part, second chapter which is dealing with the first communication problems occurring during the voyages of Christopher Columbus and the third chapter that captures Hernán Cortés communication strategies and associated issues. The thesis aims to point out particular communication failures and strategies and to evaluate on those with respect to the theoretical conceptions. The Diploma Thesis was conceived based on compilation and comparative method of primary historical publications and secondary literature. |
