| Abstract: | Tématem této práce je abolicionistické hnutí ve Velké Británii a legislativní proces, který vedl k zákazu obchodu s otroky a otroctví v britském impériu. Práce na úvod předkládá stručný přehled britského zapojení do obchodu s otroky a otroctví a jeho zákonného ukotvení. Těžištěm zájmu práce je formování a činnost abolicionistického hnutí ve Velké Británii a politický boj o přijetí zákonů o zákazu obchodu s otroky (1807) a otroctví (1833). Práce se také zabývá důsledky uplatňování a prosazování těchto zákonů. |
| Abstract in different language: | The theme of this thesis is the abolitionist movement in Great Britain and the legislative process that led to the abolition of slave trade and slavery in the British Empire. The paper introduces a brief overview of British involvement in the slave trade and slavery and its legal background. The thesis mainly focuses on the creation and activity of the abolitionist movement and political struggle for the adoption of laws prohibiting slave trade (1807) and slavery (1833). Autor also considers the consequences of application and enforcement of these laws. |
