dc.description.abstract-translatedIstria as a trans-boarder region is the geopolitical whole, where there have been many forms of political organization. These forms are reflected in today's ethnic composition and in demarcation of national borders. In today's integrated Europe, with its efforts to overcome historical and political injustice committed against oppressed nations by those stronger ones, we can also find integration efforts here on the Istrian peninsula between Italy, Slovenia and Croatia. This work deals with the formation of today's geopolitical units in the area of Istria, the main object of interest is the area near the Gulf of Trieste.en
