Abstract in different language: Schwarz-Christoffel conformal mapping method is widely used in modeling of air gap flux density distribution of electrical machines. It should not be as time consuming as definition and calculation of the finite element model but provides results with high accuracy. Also the improved saturation model can be applied to obtain more accurate results. In this paper, the reduced Schwarz-Christoffel conformal mapping is presented to minimize the calculated region area. The conformal mapping is used only once and then the air gap magnetic field can be derived for all rotor positions and stator current phase shift.
