Abstract in different language: Czech border regions differ greatly in the socio-economical, demographical and natural areas. Tourism in the border regions is a very important part of the economy, because of the character of the landscape. Nature in connection with the culture potential creates very attractive regions for the development of the relatively new economic industry – tourism. Currently, the best known tourism destinations have problems with crowding and travel is become a megatrend. Czech border regions have a good absorbing capacity for tourists and in these rural regions there are good conditions for the sustainable development of rural and nature-oriented tourism. We focus on the tourism field in three Czech border regions: the Pilsen, Karlovy Vary, and Usti regions. We compare three regions on the Czech/German border.
