Abstract in different language: The study is focused on creation of multimedia and it explores mainly the efficiency of concept maps in the educational process. The first part aims at the creation and the choice of eligible multimedia teaching aids in the frame of the thematic unit. Its task is to outline their functions and use in the educational process. Their use is graphically demonstrated on useful examples. The second part examines the efficiency of concept maps based on the experimental research. Students of 1st to 4th year at the secondary high school took part in a lecture where the topic was explained by using a concept map. Subsequently, they were asked to prove their acquired knowledge by completing a quiz. The basis of the original concept map was provided to them. They could use it to construct their answers. The gained data were analysed and assessed. The experiment illustrates the potential of concept maps in the educational process and reveals the obstacles in the use of this teaching aid.
