Abstract: Sort- rst or image space parallel rendering has been the subject of a signi cant amount of research. Its limited scalability is well known. Nevertheless, sort- rst has noticeable advantages over other approaches: it has moderate and predictable communication overhead, and it has no problems with multipass or transparent rendering. Especially for multi-projector display systems, driven by a cluster of standard PCs with limited network bandwidth, it is the rst choice to achieve interactive frame rates. In this paper we present an approach to do load balancing for arbitrary multi projector systems, based on a sort- rst approach.
