Abstract: In probabilistic tracking tasks, the quality of the observation model used is of prime importance. In some models, evidence is extracted from the outline of the object while in others, it is extracted from the region bounded by this. In this article, we shall study and compare the behavior of two outline-based models with one histogram-based model.
