| Abstract: | Tématem diplomové práce je Kulturní instituce Plzně - Knihovna města Plzně, Studijní a vědecká knihovna Plzeňského kraje a Knihovna Západočeského muzea v Plzni. Diplomová práce je rozdělena do tří celků, každý z nich je věnován jedné z vybraných plzeňských knihoven. V kapitolách jsou vystiženy okolnosti vzniku knihovny a jejich počáteční činnosti. Dále jsou sepsány dějiny knihoven, jejich fungování a rozvoj. Charakterizovány jsou také budovy knihoven, ve kterých sídlí. Dílčím úkolem bylo popsání knihovního fondu, kdy jsou nejprve sepsány dokumenty, se kterými knihovny začínaly svoji činnost, a dále také fond, kterým knihovny disponují dnes. Vymezené jsou také služby knihoven. |
| Abstract in different language: | The topic of thesis is Cultural Institutions of Pilsen - Municipal Library of Pilsen, The Education and Research Library of the Pilsener Region and Library of the West-Bohemian Museum. The thesis is divided into three parts, each part is dedicated to one of the selected Pilsen libraries. The chapters deal with the circumstances of the foundation of each library and its initial activities. Then, history of libraries, their functionning and development are summarized. Furthemore, the buildings where libraries are located are characterized. A sub-goal of the thesis was to describe the collections of the libraries: at first, a list of documents with which the libraries started their activity can be found, then the collections at readers´ disposal nowadays are described. Services provided by the libraries are also defined. |
