| Abstract: | Tato kvalifikační práce se zabývá životem a myšlenkami Edith Steinové. Jedná se o významnou osobnost 20. století z oblasti filosofie a teologie. Edith Steinová je židovskou konvertitkou ke katolické církvi. Poslední roky svého života strávila jako řeholnice karmelitánského řádu. Život Edith Steinové byl násilně ukončen v plynové komoře koncentračního tábora Auschwitz-Birkenau. V roce 1998 byla tato žena jako Terezie Benedikta od Kříže svatořečena. V práci je hledána odpověď na otázku, zda jde přísně vymezit pojmy spiritualita a filosofie. Edith Steinová a její působení jsou příkladem toho, že mezi filosofií a teologií nelze vymezit ostrou hranici. Celou její vědeckou dráhou i povoláním karmelitky se prolínala touha po poznání pravdy a naplnění života láskou. |
| Abstract in different language: | This qualification work deals with the life and ideas of Edith Stein. She is an important personality of the 20th century in the field of philosophy and theology Edith Stein was a Jewish convert to the Catholic Church. She spent the last years of her life as a nun of the Carmelite Order. Life of Edith Stein was forcibly terminated in the gas chambers of the concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. In 1998, Edith Stein was canonized. The aim of my work is to answer the question, whether it is possible to strictly define the concepts of spirituality and philosophy. Edith Stein and her work illustrate the fact that sharp boundaries can not be defined between philosophy and theology. Her entire scientific career as well as her work for the Carmelites was pervaded with the desire to know the truth and fill life with love. |
