| Abstract: | Tato práce zkoumá mladou poválečnou generaci v Kuvajtu. Mapuje jejich současný životní styl a zkoumá vztah k zásadním faktorům, které přispěly k vytváření jejich kuvajtská poválečná generace je na jedné straně produkt globalizačních vlivů, které prostřednictvím přejímání cizích kulturních prvků přímo formovaly jejich identity. Zároveň však silně zohledňují lokální hodnoty plynoucí primárně z jejich víry a částečně i některých tradic, kterých se mladí nezříkají. Tato kombinace tak dala vzniknout unikátní a svébytné kultuře mladé kuvajtské generace spojující ve svých živote různé trendy moderní a západní s tradičními aspekty místními, s jedinou neměnnou proměnnou v podobě muslimské víry, jakožto stálého zdroje smyslu jejich životů. |
| Abstract in different language: | The work aims on exploring the young generation of Kuwaiti society and in the age from 20 to 25 years. This generation have grown up in different environment then the elders. Eight-months field research was conducted in Kuwait to explore the life of the young generation, their family and educational background, current lifestyle, and also their sexuality. The research presents the young Kuwaitis as a group, that grew up in very traditional environment of their families but on the other hand were since their childhood under direct influences of the globalization. Young Kuwaitis are more open to the world influence and other cultures. Young Kuwaiti generation has combined the influences in a very specific way. Even thought their lifestyle might appear strongly Westernized, the research has proven that their lives remain strongly tied with mainly with their Muslim faith and also their families, both representing unchangeable values for their future. |
