Abstract in different language: | This work is focused on the current Atlantic crisis. It uses neorealistic arguments to figure out why we are talking about this crisis today. Neorealism see Atlanticism in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Neorealistic arguments, which lead us to claim why we can talk about the crisis, is a projection of US power in NATO, and then the current decline of the USA. This decline is due to the rise of other powers, such as China. This means that the attention of the United States turns to Asia and the US interest in the functioning of NATO at this point decreases. Therefore, we can talk about the Atlantic crisis, which is apparent in different views of NATO member countries (particularly the US and Europe as a whole) to solve selected problems in the international system, such as terrorism, the situation in Libya or Ukrainian crisis. However, the Ukrainian crisis could become one that attracts the interest of the United States from Asia back to Europe. In that case the Atlantic crisis will be averted and NATO will become efficient and effective alliances again. |
