Abstract in different language: The research deals with a nationally oriented feminist movement in Pilsen. This movement was formed primarily by Czech townswomen. At first, they were rather isolated and informal communities, which were however gradually institutionalized since the late 19th century. After the establishment of Česká jednota paní a dívek, the most significant Czech feminist movement, women started to appear also in other clubs, both purely feminine and mixed. Feminist movement had an impact on national, or more precisely minority movements (Národní jednota pošumavská, Ústřední matice školská) and nationally oriented parties (especially Czechoslovak National Democracy), where women from Pilsen engaged themselves primarily in social, cultural, educational and public enlightenment issues.
