| Abstract: | Hlavním tématem této bakalářské práce je humor v Canterburských povídkách Geoffreyho Chaucera. Tato práce analyzuje z hlediska humoru konkrétně Rytířovu povídku, prolog a povídku Ženy z Bathu a samotný Prolog ke Canterurským povídkám. Aby čtenář lépe pochopil použití Chaucerova humoru, je nejprve seznámen s Chaucerovým životem, životem ve středověku a také s teorií humoru. Chaucer používá převážně humor satiristický a ironický a jejich prostřednitcvím kritizuje dvě nejdůležitější instituce středověku - církev a patriarchát. |
| Abstract in different language: | The thesis deals with the position of humour in Geoffrey Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. It particularly analyses the Knight's tale, the Wife of Bath's prologue and tale and the General Prologue. Chaucer's humour is very specific and to understand it requires insight into the Middle Ages society, brief introduction to Geoffrey Chaucer's life and an analysis of the types of humour. Therefore is the first part of this bachelor thesis devoted to these theoretical facts. The humour in The Canterbury Tales used by Geoffrey Chaucer is predominantly satire and irony. Through the use of irony and satire Chaucer criticize the main issues and main institutions of the medieval society - the church and patriarchy. |
