| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem Suezské krize a chováním a postoji jednotlivých účastníků, zejména Velké Británie a Spojených států amerických. Suezská krize je považována za milník v britsko-amerických vztazích, a proto je hlavním cílem této práce odhalit podstatu vzájemného neporozumění a zjistit, proč se obě země chovaly tak, jak se chovaly. V práci je věnován prostor samotné Suezské krizi a jejímu průběhu, poté tzv. special relationship, a to převážně v regionu Blízkého východu, a následně jednání USA a Británie přímo v krizi. Průběh Suezské krize nakonec odhaluje podstatu britsko-amerických vztahů nejen na Blízkém východě, ale i v obecné rovině; od tohoto konfliktu je zřejmé, že Británie je v tomto "special relationship" tím podřízeným. |
| Abstract in different language: | This bachelor thesis focuses on the Suez crisis and behaviour and stances of its participants, especially Great Britain and the United States of America. Because the Suez crisis is considered to be a milestone in the Anglo-American relations, the main goal of this thesis is to discover the merits of mutual misunderstanding and to find out, why the participants behave as they did. This thesis examines the Suez crisis itself, the Anglo-American relations, mostly in the Middle East, and behaviour of both countries in the crisis. The Suez crisis actually discloses the essence of the Anglo-American relations not only in the Middle East, but in general; since then it was clear, who was the subordinate one in the "special relationship." |
