| Abstract: | Kniha vypráví o vzniku a historii swingu, o hudebních a tanečních klubech, díky kterým se tento styl stal oblíbeným a rozšířil se dále mezi lidi, také o tom, jak se vyvíjel z předešlých hudebních stylů a tanců. Vysvětluje, co to swing je, představuje čtyři základní tance a popisuje nejdůležitější aspekty této hudby. Ale hlavně znázorňuje, co swing pro lidi znamenal. Nebyla to pouhá hudba a tanec, byl to životní styl. |
| Abstract in different language: | The book is about the origins and history of swing, about music and dance clubs that made the style popular and spread further among the people, and how it evolved from previous musical styles and dances. It also explains what swing is and it introduces four basic swing dances and describes the most important aspects of its music. But most importantly, it illustrates the importance of swing for people. It was not just music and dancing, it was a way of life. |
