| Abstract: | Rozhodla jsem se pro materiál, který je mi nejbližší. Žula je nádherná. Má sice své limity a mnohá úskalí, ale radost z ní je nanahraditelná. Porozuměla jsem kameni, jeho křehkosti i nezničitelnosti. Naučila jsem se na něj dívat z dálky i v detailu, z mnoha stran. Úhel pohledu je u mého objektu hodně důležitý, ať už si divák prohlíží monolit nebo se dívá průhledem mezi monolitem a deskou. Opět se nabízí symbolické zachycení vztahu prostoru a času. My tu nebudeme, ale opracovaný kámen v krajině zůstane. |
| Abstract in different language: | Despite my health problems, I decided to use my favourite material granite in my work with the theme "I create, therefore I am". It was originally intended to form the basis of a water feature to be placed in a public space. Due to complications on the part of the client, the project was not materialized. Therefore I decided to process the granite monolith and install the slab of the same material, that was created during the processing as a separate object in its own right. This time, I worked the stone by drilling, so-called stripping, a clean cut with a circular saw and then polishing. The biggest problem was transporting and installing the 210 cm high, 73 cm wide and 60 cm deep block and the slab, which was 260 cm high and 60 cm wide. Its thickness varies between the 1 cm of the front edge and 10cm on the back edge and it is therefore very fragile. The relief on one side and polished surface on the other side also contribute to the fragility of the slab. Because of that the work was demanding not only physically but also mentally. While working and burying the board 50 cm into the ground, I was constantly worried when it would crack. I am all the more satisfied with the final work and I think it is a path I could ellaborate on in the future. |
