| Abstract: | Tato práce se zabývá zkoumáním diváctva českých soap oper, konkrétně jedné z nich - Ulice. Hlavním cílem práce bylo zjistit, jaké strategie legitimizace kulturních preferencí volí její divačky, a jaké naopak kritici/čky daného produktu populární kultury. Zároveň jsou zde diskutovány možné následky statusu diváka/čky soap opery pro sociální pozici jedinců, kteří se identifikují s těmito kulturními produkty. Také jsou zkoumány strategie kritiků/ček dané soap opery a jejich formulace s ohledem na rozlišování mezi vysokou a populární kulturou. Provedený výzkum byl založen na skupinových rozhovorech, focus groups, a hloubkových polostrukturovaných rozhovorech se ženami, které pravidelně sledují českou soap operu Ulice. |
| Abstract in different language: | This thesis focuses on examination of the viewers of Czech soap operas, in particular one of them named Ulice. The main aim of this thesis was to find out which strategies of legitimization of their culture preferences those viewers choose and which one choose the critics of such product of popular culture. The thesis also discusses the possible consequence of the status of the viewer of soap opera for the social position of those who identify themselves with these cultural products. It also deals with the strategies, which critics of this soap opera use and how are they formulated with respect to the distinction between high and popular culture. The research rest on group interviews, namely focus groups, and in-depth semi-structured interviews with the women who regularly view the Czech soap opera Ulice. |
