| Abstract: | Cílem bakalářské práce je zjistit a popsat roli mládeže v protestech Arabského jara v Egyptě, které na začátku roku 2011 vedly ke svržení dlouholetého autoritářského prezidenta Husního Mubáráka. Práce zkoumá, jakým způsobem se mladí Egypťané protestů účastnili a jak přispěli ke změně do té doby zkostnatělého režimu. Zaměřuje se i na důvody mobilizace mládeže, veřejné projevy nespokojenosti v letech předcházejících vypuknutí Arabského jara a představuje nejvýznamnější mládežnická protestní hnutí. Nakonec sleduje možnosti participace mladých Egypťanů v porevolučním vývoji země. Práce se snaží ukázat, jak se angažovanost mládeže v těchto fázích společensko-politického vývoje Egypta měnila. |
| Abstract in different language: | The aim of this thesis is to explore and describe role of youth during the Arab Spring protests in Egypt that led to the overthrow of longtime authoritarian President Hosni Mubarak in early 2011. The thesis examines forms of engagement of young Egyptians during the uprising as well as their contribution to the fall of the rigid regime. It also focuses on causes of youth mobilisation and public demonstrations of discontent in the lead up to the revolt, and presents the most important youth protest movements. Finally, the thesis examines possibilities for participation of the Egyptian youth in the post-revolutionary development. It shows how the youth involvement changed during these stages of Egypt's socio-political life. |
