| Abstrakt: | Bakalářská práce se zabývá českým dativem a různými způsoby jeho vyjádření v angličtině. Teoretická část objasňuje gramatické formy českého dativu, jeho realizaci větnými členy a jeho sémantické role. Dále poskytuje přehled způsobů jeho vyjádření v angličtině. Praktickou část tvoří analýza 205 excerptů vybraných ze dvou českých knih (M. Viewegh: Báječná léta pod psa, M. Kundera: Žert) a jejich anglických překladů. Výsledky analýzy, zaměřené na četnost výskytu různých forem dativu a jejich anglických ekvivalentů, jsou zde prezentovány a podloženy konkrétními příklady z uvedených knih. |
| Abstrakt v dalším jazyce: | This undergraduate thesis deals with the Czech dative case and the means of its translation into English. The objective of the thesis is to provide the reader with the basic knowledge of the grammatical and syntactical forms of the Czech dative and its semantic roles and to demonstrate the variety of means by which it can be translated into English. The thesis consists of two main parts The theoretical background and The analysis. In the Theoretical background, the main characteristics of the Czech dative case are described, with the emphasis on the semantic roles. The approaches of different authors are compared here. Also some theoretical background of the expression of the dative in English is provided. The analysis of the excerpts from two Czech fiction books and their English translations (M. Viewegh: Báječná léta pod psa / Bliss was it in Bohemia and M. Kundera: Žert / The Joke) has been done in the second part of the thesis. The results of the analysis are presented here, illustrated with a number of examples from the excerpts and lucid charts. The analysis shows the frequency of occurrence of particular forms and semantic roles of the Czech dative and the various means of their translation into English. |
