| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce se soustředí na přítomnost Spojených států amerických v pacifické oblasti z pohledu defensivního realismu. V úvdu práce je představeno aktuální dění v kontextu pacifické oblasti. Zde je kladen důraz na přiblížení soupeření Spojených států a Čínské lidové republiky jakožto dvou supervelmocí. V teoretické části práce jsou detailně rozebrány jednotlivé indikátory defenzivního realismu. V návaznosti na indikátory jsou představeny sledované parametry, pomocí nichž je zkoumána angažovanost Spojených států v pacifické oblasti. V empirické části práce jsou poté tyto parametry aplikovány na indikátory defensivního realismu. Na konci empirické části je provedeno vyhodnocení zkoumaných parametrů, které je doplněno o přehlednou tabulku, ve které jsou výsledky zaneseny. V závěru práce jsou znovu shrnuty výsledky z empirické části a je zodpovězena výzkumná otázka práce. Poté následuje nastínění dalšího možného vývoje v pacifické oblasti. |
| Abstract in different language: | This bachelor's thesis focuses on the United States' presence in the Pacific region from a defensive realism perspective. The thesis introduces current events in the context of the Pacific theater. The focus here is on presenting the rivalry between the United States and the People's Republic of China as two superpowers. In the theoretical part of the thesis, individual indicators of defensive realism are explored in detail. Following the indicators, the observed parameters are presented, through which the United States' engagement in the Pacific theater is examined. The empirical part of the thesis then applies these parameters to the indicators of defensive realism. At the end of the empirical part, an evaluation of the examined parameters is made, accompanied by a summary table in which the results are entered. In the conclusion of the thesis, the results from the empirical part are again summarized and the research question of the thesis is answered. This is followed by an outline of possible future developments in the Pacific region. |
